Who Says Purple Lipstick is a Rebel Thing?

No, seriously. Of all the colors, why purple?

Hey rosettes! Today we decided to show you how to make lipstick. Of. Every. Color. What was that? Yeah, you heard us right. Every. Color. That includes teal, blue, green, yellow...... need we go on? And of course, you can still make the classics: royal red, rebellious purple, or bubblegum pink. Feeling bold? Black lipstick is so in right now (for parties and events and stuff, NOT daily makeup). Especially if it's covered in glitter. (Life hack: Edible glitter for cakes and stuff works just as well as makeup glitter. So. Much. Sweeter. You can also use clear lip gloss to make it stay and to prevent glitter from taking over your gorgeous face instead of makeup glue. Clear lip gloss also works GREAT on your eyelid for sparkly shadow.) Anyway, it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to have every color of lipstick. We have a brilliant solution. Even though this recipe is a super popular thing going on, we wanted to bring it to your awareness. Wait, we haven't even gotten to the good part. It. Only. Requires. Two. Ingredients. A. Microwave. And. A. Freezer. Are we crazy? Don't think so. Don't believe me? Just watch.

Crayon lipstick is super easy, works like a charm, and is safe for your lips. No prior math knowledge is required because you can just eyeball it. You need a microwave safe cup (didn't mention it before because it would've ruined our awesome exaggeration about HOW FEW THINGS YOU NEED), tape/wax paper, a pencil, a sharp blade (a knife works), a crayon or two (that matches the color of the lipstick you want), coconut oil, a microwave, a freezer, your hands, and something to walk with (your legs should do). This life hack allows you to disguise lipstick as an eraser on the back of your pencil. Keep that in mind for the back to school season!

In a cup, break one or two crayons in half (depends how long you want your "eraser" to be. Note that you can mix colors or even do this in two separate cups to create a tie-dye or galaxy themed lipstick). Pour like 2 spoonfuls of coconut oil into it (depends how matte or sheer of a finish you want. We added in like 5 plastic spoonfuls and got a matte look on the lips, even though it felt creamy to the touch. We used Burt's Bees' Pomegranate Lip Balm underneath to make the matte lipstick WEARABLE. You need some kind of base underneath or pieces of the crayon will start to come off and will give your lips a chapped look. Apply gloss on top for a classical glossy looks. The crayon lipstick only provides the color). You will be able to know how much to add by playing around with it. Microwave until fully melted. Now, be quick, this stuff hardens withing 30 seconds or so. In this case, microwave again. Take the eraser FULLY out of the back of the pencil and insert wax paper or a tape funnel (paper doesn't work, believe me, we tried) into it. Pour your melted crayon + coconut oil into it and place it in the freezer without tilting the pencil. Wait for 15 minutes and voila! You have a new lipstick that you can bring anywhere! Remember to adjust the look by adding on other lip products, such as glitter, gloss, etc. Lip balm creates an in between look. Add a tiny bit of it and it will look matte. A bit more and it will look glossy. Enjoy!
