The Voice of Fashion - Part 1; Common Mistakes

Image
Hey rosettes! So today I decided to start a new series (yes, I will still be continuing my posts on earrings) about the basics of fashion and commonly asked questions that my friends have so graciously emailed me.  I will answer a question and give you 7 tips (7, because it is a number of the rebellious and I really hope you know my blog address by now) for all beauty/makeup related topics. And again, please show me your support by commenting down below and by telling me any questions about this sort of stuff that you happen to have (I don't make up the questions, so it has to come from somewhere, right?). Don't hesitate to ask, because it is the only way you will learn.  Q: "What is color blocking and how is it done?" ~ Crazed by Colors (i just made that up) A: Color blocking is when you take a FEW colors that compliment each other and customize your outfit to strictly follow the chosen colors. Let me give you a nice example. Say you want to use the colors...

Hanging by a Thread; Part 1 - Getting Your Ears Pierced

Image
Hey rosettes! This was a suggested topic (by Kate, the girl with the awesome blog, so if you STILL haven't gone to it........girl, you are INSANE so forget my blog and check hers out ASAP @ katesknicknacks.blogspot.com. You are not allowed to read the rest of this post until you read every single one of hers) so I (yeah, it's just me today) decided to just go for it. So lets skip the introduction, and I can tell you right away that today's post will be about EARRINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay so there are MANY types of earrings. From the simple studs, to the elegant hangings, and the stylish loops, there is A LOT to cover. I won't be able to talk about the entire world of earrings in one little post, so there is going be multiple parts to this topic. I mean, I could fit it all in, but the post would take ages to read and you'd be bored out of your shoes so I think I'm gonna go with the more practical way. Today, I will start by telling you about getting your ears...

Who Says Purple Lipstick is a Rebel Thing?

Image
No, seriously. Of all the colors, why purple? Hey rosettes! Today we decided to show you how to make lipstick. Of. Every. Color. What was that? Yeah, you heard us right. Every. Color. That includes teal, blue, green, yellow...... need we go on? And of course, you can still make the classics: royal red, rebellious purple, or bubblegum pink. Feeling bold? Black lipstick is so in right now (for parties and events and stuff, NOT daily makeup). Especially if it's covered in glitter. (Life hack: Edible glitter for cakes and stuff works just as well as makeup glitter. So. Much. Sweeter. You can also use clear lip gloss to make it stay and to prevent glitter from taking over your gorgeous face instead of makeup glue. Clear lip gloss also works GREAT on your eyelid for sparkly shadow.) Anyway, it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to have every color of lipstick. We have a brilliant solution. Even though this recipe is a super popular thing going on, we wanted to bring it to your awareness. Wait, we ha...

The Tricks to Making Your Life Easier

Image
Hey rosettes! There won't be another Quote of the Day because this is our second post today. We decided to make a list of life hacks that are GUARANTEED to make your life SO much easier. Below are 15 life hacks that you can use 24/7: 1. Cashmere is always washed best by hand, no matter what the tag says. Use a salad spinner to dry it because it removes excess water within moments. 2. The absolute BEST way to de-fuzz a sweater is to use a pumice stone. Believe us, it works. 3. Use silk or satin pillowcases to keep your hair from breaking. They also help you achieve smoother skin. 4. If you are unsure about buying something, leave it at the store. If you are thinking about it the next day, then what are you waiting for? Go ahead and buy it! 5. When in doubt, always choose the smaller denim size because jeans, for ex., will stretch as you wear it, 6. Store jewelry in Ziploc bags with cotton balls in them. It helps gold, sterling silver, and platinum keeps its color, shine,...

A Rainbow of Choices

Image
So we're gonna start our first real post by telling y'all how to know if your outfit is gold-toned or silver-toned. A common mistake is that a bunch people think that warm colors go with gold-toned jewelry and cool colors go with silver. But NO! That may influence  which looks better, but in most cases, it has absolutely nothing to do it. Our trick is finding shades of gray. Just a hint of gray can signify that the outfit is silver-toned. But of course, these are general recommendations, and there are almost ALWAYS exceptions. If you're a beginner, we recommend putting both tones of jewelry near whatever you're wearing. You'll know. It will speak to you. But let's get back to the reality. Color combinations are another major factor in deciding what kind of accessories to add. Notice that we said "combinations" and not the color by itself. Usually , if you have a solid color, both tones should work. Gold and silver can both rock a red dress, for instanc...
