A Rainbow of Choices
So we're gonna start our first real post by telling y'all how to know if your outfit is gold-toned or silver-toned. A common mistake is that a bunch people think that warm colors go with gold-toned jewelry and cool colors go with silver. But NO! That may influence which looks better, but in most cases, it has absolutely nothing to do it. Our trick is finding shades of gray. Just a hint of gray can signify that the outfit is silver-toned. But of course, these are general recommendations, and there are almost ALWAYS exceptions. If you're a beginner, we recommend putting both tones of jewelry near whatever you're wearing. You'll know. It will speak to you. But let's get back to the reality. Color combinations are another major factor in deciding what kind of accessories to add. Notice that we said "combinations" and not the color by itself. Usually, if you have a solid color, both tones should work. Gold and silver can both rock a red dress, for instance. But if you have red and white, we highly recommend silver (gold would work as well, but silver would blend in better. If you wanted to highlight the accent piece instead of the dress, then choose gold). Silver would also go with a lavender dress with pink accents. On the other hand, if you were wearing a yellow and coral color blocked romper, then gold would work best. However, every outfit is different, and you need to be able to see the entire picture to choose accurately. If you are more advanced, then you can take it a step farther and mix the two. Be extremely cautious while doing this. If you do it right, then you're automatically the star of the show. Otherwise.....you end up looking.....ya know, odd. Of course, there are so many other tones for jewelry; we just chose the top two. Our other favorites include bronze, copper, and rose gold (rose gold is so elegant and mixes quite well with both silver and gold accent pieces). That's about it for now. Good luck!
